According to an article in the Orange County Register, a Newport Beach doctor named Brian Swan prescribed amphetamines to his girlfriend (and ex girlfriend) in order to fuel his own addiction.
This is a sad story of the impaired healer. It is not an uncommon one whatsoever.
Dr. Swan lives in Newport Beach and has his main practice in Anaheim, California.
This story is much less sinister than the ones we have covered of doctors who recklessly prescribe opiate medications to addicts to make a buck. We hope that Dr. Swan, whose main drug of choice was Adderall gets the help he needs for methamphetamine abuse.
His maximum possible sentence is 11 years and 8 months.
