As we have been covering the controversial world of Jamaican reggae artists who have been arrested, a recent piece of news came across our desk about a performer who is accused of murder (and has been exonerated for the crime of marijuana possession).
Dancehall reggae singer Vybz Kartel was taken into custody on Septmeber 30, 2011 at the New Kingston hotel. He is being held under the suspiction suspicion that he murdered a man (Barrington “Bossie” Burton).
Vybz was also charged with ganja possession that was part of the arrest but his female companion Alecia Jackson plead guilty and took responsibility for the marijuana charge.
Vybz Kartel (born Adidja Palmer) was known for his dancehall hits and productions. He has collaborated with well known artists like:

Vybz Kartel made controversial headlines once before for announcing his line of skin whitening cream that he will release (possibly called “Vybz”).
His skin is lighter, most likely as a result of the use of “cake soap” or “blue soap” which is increasingly being used in Jaimaica to lighten the skin. Critics consider this practice unhealthy on many levels.
