There have been several recent shocking cases in the news of doctors who have let greed override their professional ethics, writing illegal prescriptions for addictive narcotic drugs like OxyContin, Vicodin and xanax adderall drug dealerXanax.

 

As we cover the news of drug addiction and arrests, we have noticed an inordinate amount of those arrests having to do with Reggae artists.

What is it about the music of Jamaica that tends to appeal to a rough and lawless crowd?

Particularly dancehall reggae artists themselves seem to be getting arrested in high profile criminal cases.

A Seemingly Troubled Nation and Culture

As we have been covering the controversial world of Jamaican reggae artists who have been arrested, a recent piece of news came across our desk about  a performer who is accused of murder (and has been exonerated for the crime of marijuana possession).

 

Due to the rise in prescription drug abuse, the number of drug-related deaths in the U.S. now outnumbers traffic fatalities, the Los Angeles Times reports.
 
Although the number of deaths from most preventable causes is declining across the nation, the death toll from drugs is steadily rising.  Every 14 minutes, someone in America dies from drugs.
 

The war on drugs is a term used to describe the federal government's war on drugsattempts to end the manufacturing, import, export, sale and use of illegal drugs through a series of anti-drug initiatives all aiming at the common goal of ending drug abuse.
